UnaBiz aims to revolutionise asset tracking with Sigfox Atlas Sparks

UnaBiz, a leading IoT service provider and integrator, has announced the launch of the Sigfox Atlas Sparks beta. This geolocation service is set to transform asset tracking in the supply chain and logistics sector, building upon the success of their previous offering, Sigfox Atlas Wifi ML.

The IoT landscape has long grappled with the challenge of cost-effectively tracking large fleets of assets while maintaining high accuracy. Sigfox Atlas Sparks addresses this issue head-on by leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms to enhance the capabilities of low-cost trackers.

The new service allows logistics companies to equip just 20% of their fleet with Smart WiFi trackers, while the remaining 80% can utilise simpler, Sigfox-only low-cost trackers without built-in geolocation capabilities. By analysing the communication patterns of both tracker types in the cloud, UnaBiz’s patented algorithms can accurately locate the entire fleet based on their “0G radio signatures.”

Alexis Susset, Chief Technology Officer at UnaBiz, explained:

“Sigfox Atlas Sparks demonstrates the transformative power of AI and Machine Learning further advancing our world-leading suite of geolocation services. This innovation is unique to our global Sigfox 0G Network, as we leverage its scale we gain access to high-quality datasets used to train Geolocation AI models.”

The innovative approach of Sigfox Atlas Sparks is expected to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for large-scale asset management by 20% to 30% overall while maintaining location data accuracy equivalent to that of a pure WiFi-based tracker fleet. This aligns with Sigfox’s “Less is More” principle, enabling the tracking of lower-cost assets such as pallets, crates, and parcels using Sigfox-only low-cost trackers.

Yoshiaki Nagai, Deputy General Manager of ICT Group and Division Manager, Wireless Solutions Division at Kyocera Communication Systems, commented:

“We’re excited to be one of the first solutions compatible with Sigfox Atlas Sparks. UnaBiz’s continuous innovation in the Sigfox 0G technology, as well as Geolocation AI, brings new value and confidence to our customers in the logistics and supply chain sector, enhancing our ability to deliver precise yet cost-effective asset tracking solutions.”

Similarly, Oliver Diezemann, Senior Product Manager at ALPS ALPINE EUROPE, one of the largest implementers of LPWAN asset trackers in Europe, commented:

“We’re excited to bring UnaBiz’s latest innovation, Sigfox Atlas Sparks, to our customers. We have experienced the success of the Sigfox Atlas Wifi ML and are looking forward to the next generation of Sigfox geolocation service.

By leveraging AI and focusing on what is fundamentally essential, UnaBiz has reduced the TCO of large fleets by balancing low-cost Sigfox-only trackers with Smart WiFi Trackers.”

By combining cost-effectiveness with improved accuracy, UnaBiz is paving the way for more widespread adoption of IoT solutions in the supply chain and logistics sector. As the technology continues to mature, we can expect to see even more innovative applications.
