Leidos wins $276m defence contract to conduct critical research

Leidos has been awarded a $276m task order to support the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center (DoDIAC).

The new contract will see Leidos conduct R&D of critical minerals and materials for use in munitions and to promote energetics supply chain resiliency.

According to Leidos, the company was awarded the contract under the DoDIAC’s multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle. 

These IAC MAC task orders are awarded by the US Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron to develop knowledge for the enhancement of the Defense Technical Information Center repository and the R&D and science and technology communities.

“A resilient energetics supply chain will help ensure our war fighters are ready for any conflict, while reducing our nation’s reliance on foreign sources,” commented Mike Diggins, Senior Vice President and Homeland and Force Protection Business Area Leader, Leidos.

“With more than three decades supporting energetics R&D at Picatinny Arsenal, our team will help the DOD synthesise and scale-up domestic minerals and materials production.”
